National Motto Program-January Update

by Carole Parsons

On December 1, Carole Parsons presented an In God We Trust framed poster to Shannan Reid, with The Montgomery Chamber of Commerce.

December 6, Carole Parsons presented a poster to Jennifer Millington, owner of Primrose School of Conroe.

Stephanie Johnson and Carole Parsons presented a poster to Conroe City Councilman Howard Wood on December 9, at the Montgomery County Veteran’s Memorial Park, and he gave us an extensive tour of this amazing park, with so much to be added in the future!

On December 13, Birgitta Grohs and Carole Parsons presented 140 of the teacher-requested framed posters to Dr. Heath Morrison, MISD Superintendent, Matt Fuller, MISD School Board President and Justin Marino, Asst. Superintendent of Communications and Public Relations. Will Metcalf, our generous donor for these posters, and Our District 16 State Rep was in attendance. Representative Metcalf was the co-sponsor of S.B. No. 797 passed in Sept. 2021, that made this Program even possible for our great State!

MISD recognized LCARW in the December 16th edition of “The MISD Minute”, the District’s Weekly Update, that goes to every staff member in the District from Dr. Morrison!

Our National Motto Program Project received a very generous $500 donation from Brad Perrine, local contractor. We are grateful, for the continuing support for this worthy endeavor.

Stay tuned!!

Welcome to the new year, a year that will be filled with opportunities to help our Republican Party and candidates prepare for elections in 2024. No task is too small or amount of time spent volunteering too little to have an amazing cumulative effect on our county, state and country. Won’t you resolve to help us this year by volunteering?

Check your email and LCARW website and newsletter for volunteer opportunities.

The MCRP also needs help. A registration form is located under the Get Involved tab on the party website Volunteer link.
Once you’ve volunteered, remember to Report your hours using the LCARW website.Report Volunteer Hours

In 2022, our club members volunteered more than 20,500 hours. This is a value to our candidates of over $611,000. Let’s increase that number by at least 10% in 2023.

Thank you for helping to KEEP TEXAS RED!

LCARW annual Christmas party was December 1, 2022.  A huge thank you to Carrie and Craig Butler for opening their beautiful home for our party. And thank you to Kandice Cabets and Michelle Martin for planning, preparing and setting up the entire shindig! Ya’ll did a fabulous job!

LCARW is celebrating our 30th anniversary!
We are the second oldest Republican Club in Montgomery County, and we became a SUPER JUMBO CLUB in 2022!
We are going strong and moving on up but we need your help!

FUN FACTS!
For ONE pound of honey to be produced, TWO MILLION flowers must be visited!
That makes for some very “ Busy Bees”!

Victor Hughes novel Les Miserable contains a 823 word sentence!
Talk about a RUN ON sentence!

If you google the word “Askew”, the entire page will go AKSEW!

Questions:
1) Why was FDR’s portrait portrayed on the dime?

2) What is Wal-Marts most popular item sold?

3) What is the longest common word with all the letters in alphabetical order?

**I bet you Googled the word Askew didn’t ya! 😄
